Friends of Camano Island Parks is a 501(3)(c) non-profit community organization, incorporated in 1993, providing volunteer support and raising funds, as a non-governmental means: It is the mission of this group to help promote preservation and protection of the wildlife, and the scenic and recreational resources of State, County Parks and *DNR lands located on Camano Island. Three Focused areas of the Mission • To provide stewardship activities and projects which include implementation of Camano Island park improvements and maintenance. • To provide educational programs and activities compatible with the preservation of the natural habitats and wildlife on Camano. • To advocate for acquisition of appropriate Camano Island properties for the purpose of new State, County or *DNR lands for parks trust or preserves. *Only two DNR lands: one has fully transferred to Island County, the other is a non-fee 30 year lease to Island County, to be transferred later.
